American Buff Geese

Admitted to the American Poultry Association’s Standard of Perfection in 1947, the American Buff Goose is the largest member of the medium weight class of goose and an American original breed that is thought to descend from the European Greylag.
Considered Critically Endangered by the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy the Buff Goose, as it is commonly called, is known for its docile nature and excellent mothering ability. And with mature weights reaching between 16 and 18 pounds, they make an excellent specimen for the holiday table.
